Electric Vehicle Charger Rebates & Grants in Australia

• Applicant is property owner where installation is to occur or living with the person who owns the property
• Must meet Brighte's lending criteria
• A standalone residence or a unit titled property geographically located within the ACT (including Hall, Tharwa, and Oaks Estate but not Jervis Bay Territory)

• Applicant must ordinarily reside in the ACT and have proof of address
• Must hold a valid ACT Driver Licence
• Purchased vehicle must be a zero emission EV
• Total cost of EV must be less than the luxury car tax threshold for fuel efficient vehicles

  2. State-owned corporation or subsidiary of an Australian state or territory owned corporation
  3. Local government or council in NSW
• Location must be within an eligible zone

Standard Stream

• Each site requires a minimum of 4 charging bays that can be serviced by a 350kW charger and 2 that can be serviced by a 175kW charger
• Must have a minimum connection to site of 500 kVA (or an alternative connection size where evidence can be provided that 500kVA cannot be achieved)
• Stations must be built within 24 months

Fast Track Stream

• No more than 70% government co-funding of total construction costs
• Each site requires a minimum of 8 charging bays; 2 that can be serviced by a 350 kW charger and 6 that can be serviced by a 175 kW charger
• Must have a minimum connection to site of 750 D3kVA (or evidence provided that 750 kVA cannot be achieved)
• Stations must be built within 18 months

• Have an active Origin 360 EV Subscription OR an EV Charger installed by Origin
• Have a digital meter at the energy supply address
• Do not receive a feed-in tariff under any government scheme; and
• Have an energy supply address that complies with electricity standards required by law

All new battery electric vehicles (BEV) and hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV) with a dutiable value of less $68,750, registered on or after 1 Sep 2021

• Residents - who purchase a new BEV or FCEV and register that vehicle for personal use in NSW
• Businesses & Organisations - that purchases a BEV or FCEV for business usage that has less than 10 vehicles registered in NSW

• Petrol-electric hybrid, diesel-electric hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or electric vehicles, with carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions no higher than 150 grams/kilometre (g/km) in the ‘combined’ driving cycle
• Vehicles with a Green Vehicle Guide rating of 4½ or 5 stars may also be eligible for the lower tax
• Eligible new or used BEVs and FCEVs under 4.5 tonne gross vehicle mass (including motorcycles) that cost up to $78,000 (dutiable value) are exempt from stamp duty if registered from 1 Sep 2021 in NSW

Applicants must:

• Be the owner of an NT registered EV
• Be a home or business owner
• Meet the property requirements relevant as a residential or business owner

Businesses must:

• Have their principal place of business physically located in the NT
• Offer goods and services to the public
• Have an ABN and be a valid legal entity
• Have an annual turnover of at least $75,000

• Have an active Origin 360 EV Subscription OR an EV Charger installed by Origin
• Have a digital meter at the energy supply address
• Do not receive a feed-in tariff under any government scheme; and
• Have an energy supply address that complies with electricity standards required by law

• Queensland residents
• Queensland registered businesses
• Light passenger and light commercial ZEV models only
• Purchase price (dutiable value) up to $58,000 (including GST)
• Brand new ZEVs purchased in QLD from a licensed motor vehicle dealer and registered with the Department of Transport of Main Roads on or after 16 Mar 2022
• $6,000 available for eligible applicants who purchase a new EV from 21 April 2023 at a cost of $68,000 (including GST) or less

• Have an active Origin 360 EV Subscription OR an EV Charger installed by Origin
• Have a digital meter at the energy supply address
• Do not receive a feed-in tariff under any government scheme; and
• Have an energy supply address that complies with electricity standards required by law

• New BEV or FCEV registered for the first time on or after 28 Oct 2021
• Valued below $68,750 (inclusive of GST)
• Registered in South Australia
• An EV subsidy from another state or territory in Australia must not have been received on the vehicle
• An eligible business or organisation can access the subsidy for up to two eligible new EVs registered in South Australia for business purposes

• New BEVs and FCEVs first registered from 28th Oct 2021 up to 30th Jun 2025
• Price cap of $68,750 (inclusive of GST)
• No limit on the number of new battery electric or hydrogen fuel cell vehicles that can receive relief

• Personal and business use; and
• New and demonstrator vehicles

Applicants & vehicles must:

• Be an accredited operator and have a vehicle registered in their name that is/or will be registered as a Hire & Drive Vehicle
• Be a light EV
• Use one or more electric motors for propulsion, and is fuelled from a hydrogen fuel cell, an off-vehicle electrical power source, a battery or an electric generator
• Have a registration payment due or have paid a registration payment which was due on and after 1 Jul 2021 and on or before 30 Jun 2023

• Have an active Origin 360 EV Subscription OR an EV Charger installed by Origin
• Have a digital meter at the energy supply address
• Do not receive a feed-in tariff under any government scheme; and
• Have an energy supply address that complies with electricity standards required by law

• Residents in VIC with a Victorian driver licence, or a business applicant with a registered office in VIC
• The vehicle must be:
  1. An eligible passenger ZEV model with a purchase price (dutiable value) under the threshold of $68,740
  2. Purchased brand new or as a demonstrator model
  3. Purchased on or after 2 May 2021
  4. Purchased through a participating ZEV trader
  5. Registered in Victoria
  6. Delivered and registered with VicRoads within a maximum of 6 months from the date of Contract of Sale

• Applicants who will be charging during daytime hours (9am to 5pm) or overnight (9pm to 9am). In general, charging that occurs mainly during the evening peak of 5pm-9pm will not be supported
• Applicants who will install at a location within Western Australia
• Applicants who are either:
  1. Not-for-profits registered with ACNC
  2. Local government authorities
  3. Small to medium enterprises as defined by the Australian Bureau of Statistics

Vehicle must:

1. Be a zero emission vehicle and be fully powered by batteries or hydrogen fuel cells
2. Be a light vehicle (gross vehicle mass of 4.5 tonne or less)
3. Have a WA vehicle licence granted on or after Tuesday 10 May 2022
4. Have a maximum dutiable value of $70,000 or less
5. Be brand new and never previously registered or licensed
